Sharing Offers

“Sharing Economy” is the keyword for sharing everyday commodities. Using instead of owning: A trend that can be seen growing through many areas of life, including mobility. Whether car sharing, ridesharing, rental bikes or scooters: shared mobility offers numerous opportunities.

Carsharing

Carsharing services are divided into station-based and station-independent carsharing. In station-based carsharing, the vehicle is picked up at a fixed location and must be returned there. Station-independent car sharing allows for more flexible travel arrangements; the vehicle can be parked at any desired location. Regardless of this, car sharing can make a significant contribution to reducing the burden on the environment and land use. Experience has shown that one carsharing vehicle can replace up to 20 cars.

You can find information on offers within your area directly on the websites of the car sharing providers or your community. If you would like to use a carsharing service in your neighbourhood or community, you can actively create a sharing service yourself. Further information and a guide to setting up new carsharing services is available from the Bundesverband CarSharing.

Bikesharing

Bikesharing, just like carsharing, works according to the principle of "using instead of owning." E-bikes and cargo bikes in particular are becoming more and more popular but are not necessarily used on a regular basis. So it makes sense to use a rental bike for larger cycle tours or a spontaneous bulk purchases.
The offer of rental bikes in the Hochtaunus district is still limited. You can rent e-trekking bikes at the Taunus Information Centre for a half or full day for a tour through the beautiful Taunus.
